Marketing Tasks You Should Be Automating
There’s a list of marketing tasks that could/should be automated. Automation allows you to grow your company because it allows you to work on your brand, your customers, and most important of all, your company. But as a medical practice or small business, automating your marketing may be overwhelming. Sure, a quick Google search will give you some ideas, but can you implement them?
We’ve put together a list of marketing tasks that you should be automating.
Automated Social Media Content
There are many factors to social media other than likes, comments and shares. Your content requires meticulous scheduling and consistent monitoring to be worthwhile to your clientele. On top of keeping up with consistent content, a blog post needs to be shared a few times to catch traction. Writing it once is great, but it may not be enough to reach your audience. With the constant changes in the Facebook algorithm, getting real estate in the newsfeed continues to be proving to be more difficult.
It seems easy right? Just share your content and make sure that you repost and recreate content that is engaging. It becomes increasingly more difficult to remember while you’re running your business daily trying to grow your client base. This becomes a full time job quickly because it’s not just sharing content. What if someone asks a question? You now have to respond to that, so what do you do? You could automate this with some tools such as WordStream, AdEspresso, and Hootsuite, just to name a few. But guess what? You still have to write content, find images, and schedule the content out. So while your next month’s posts are scheduled, it took you a week to find images, write content, schedule them out. So, why not automate this through an outside company?
Where do we start? Pay-per-click, also known as PPC, is a beast in it’s own. There are a number of combinations such as broad match, broad match modifier, phrase match, exact match and negative match. Talk about a lot of options and changes in keywords. But wait, keywords? Do you know what those are, if so, what keywords are you targeting? These all play into your AdWords strategy. But there are tools out there that help you target and manage keywords and we provide those for you!
So there are so many options out there, so many tools and ideas. How do you funnel through the good and the bad ones? It’s not an easy question to answer, ultimately it comes down to reliability in the data and sifting through the expenses of the programs and what they provide.
The biggest question here, do you have the time to sift through this? You could spend that time and be “away” from your business. The other things to think about are the cost for all of the tools to be able to perform these tasks which can range from free to hundreds of dollars monthly. One of the other options is to hire a digital marketing manager, but that doesn’t account for any of your ad spend overall, so it gets expensive quickly. The third option is to outsource your marketing to a digital agency that already pays for the tools with no passthrough cost and has the experience to optimize your campaigns quickly.
One of the most important and most overlooked aspects to any marketing campaign are the analytics to your campaign/digital marketing plan. The fact of the matter is, this is the most crucial part to any marketing effort or campaign. If you aren’t sure of what analytics are or they’re used for, we will break it down as best as possible.
Analytics are the reporting methods used for your website, campaigns, goals, call tracking and overall traffic aspects. Why is that important? It allows you to save time manually tracking each individual campaign you run and centralizes your tracking to see success in each campaign that you try.
Digital Marketing Automation
While there are a plethora of options available for digital marketing from running it yourself to hiring a digital marketing person in-house to hiring an agency.
